It’s a reasonable card at Sandown Park tonight, as we build up to what will be an amazing night of racing next week, with the Trilogy kicking off – heats of the Sandown Cup, Harrison-Dawson and Sapphire Crown.

BEST BET
Race 7, Paw Matic (3)
She’s not even 2-years-old but doing great things. This is another test tonight, but there’s no reason she can’t lead all of the way. I feel Secret Bandit (6) is the only one that can beat her, but if Paw Matic leads it’s going to take a huge effort to roll her.

NEXT BEST
Race 5, Zipping Fiyero (3)
I thought his past two runs have been great and he’s got a better draw tonight. There might be some even early speed across this field, which makes track position important and he’s got that, plus he’s the strongest of those speedy types.

BEST VALUE
Race 8, Fast Freddy (7)
He did it for us last week at $5 the place and we’re going again, this week without as much confidence. It’s a much tougher field but again the speed map suits him, he gets an opportunity to go forward. His place price will drift out very late and that’s the only way to play.

WORTH THE RISK/TAKE ON
Race 10, Reality Ute (4)
Currently $2.30 and that’s a big risk for a greyhound who generally begins slowly from a middle draw. In addition to that, I’m not convinced he’s strong enough to recover from the back half of the field. I’d be happy to lay.

QUADDIE
Race 5: 3,4
Race 6: 1,3,7
Race 7: 3,6
Race 8: 1,3
