There was a strong set of jump-outs at Ararat on Wednesday, April 8, and it would be no surprise to see several of these runners head towards the Warrnambool May Carnival in the coming weeks. If you’re planning to bet at the ‘Bool, these are worth a close watch.

Jump-out replays are available here.

Horses to follow:

Heat 2 – Zoulette (3rd)
The Ciaron Maher-trained filly settled midfield before working home strongly under her own steam. She broke her maiden prior to a spell and looks to have returned in good order. Two jump-outs this prep should have her ready to resume.

Heat 3 – Love Rustler (2nd)
Taige Weir continues to build a handy team. This former Peter Snowden-trained filly has settled in well down south. Her Ballarat jump-out on March 23 was excellent through the line, and she backed that up with another sharp effort here. Looks ready to land a 1200m maiden first up.
Pharoah’s Glory, the winner, also impressed for Pat Kearney.

Heat 4 – Positive Image (1st)
Raced in winkers last prep but wore blinkers here, which appeared to sharpen him up noticeably. Tom Dabernig’s horses often trial well, but this effort stood out. Should take plenty of beating in a short-course maiden first up.

Heat 12 – Famous Rosy (1st)
Pat Kearney looks to have a smart 2YO son of I Am Immortal. Showed good early speed and won comfortably under his own steam. He’s nominated for Echuca on Thursday in a strong maiden but will be very hard to beat.
