Keen to see the cover come off Mercy Me again, the talented 3yo filly was well backed on debut into $1.65 before not quite handling the experience. She has been given 23 weeks off and brought back with two very impressive trials. She draws a perfect gate here fresh and is the horse to beat.
The stablemate Sosueme is the danger, very similar profile to Mercy Me, good trials back this prep and does get a good booking with Lee Magorrian in the saddle. The slight query is the wide gate.
The market watch is on Magurtz, solid recent trial and must be respected on debut.

We might see a progressive type return to the races today by the name of Expido. The rising 4yo gelding has a strong CV already and only enhanced that with an eye-catching recent trial at Gosford behind the talented duo True To Form and Valiee. Unbeaten over 1000m and looks very well placed here fresh.
The market watch is on the danger Inazuma Boy, draws well and is first up for the new camp. Solid enough recent trial but does have to lug 61kg.
Kantishna and Thrilling Venture both bring smart recent form to this event but do need to improve further to be winning.
