Moment Of The Day: Who’s the man? Lindermann.
The ever consistent Chris Waller-trained 6yo gelding made it three wins from four this preparation after taking out the G3 Craven Plate over 1800m. That marks his third consecutive 103 WFA rating, with his only miss coming first-up on a bog track in the Winx Stakes.
He’s the MANN! 💪

It’s been a placement masterclass by the Waller operation – a cool $1.958 million banked this prep while cleverly avoiding most of the stars in the big Group 1s. In the process, the team has clearly identified his pet trip between 1800–1900m. The 2000m just sees him out, but judging by his latest figure on TopRate (103.5), he would have been more than competitive in a 2040m Cox Plate.
Expect to see him tackle the big Group 1 features come the autumn of 2026. On the rise.
Steer of the Day: Jason Collett — R3 Oakfield Jupiter
Jason Collett produced one of the rides of the day in the Midway aboard the progressive Oakfield Jupiter. Despite drawing barrier 11 of 12 with plenty of speed drawn underneath, Collett never panicked and effectively won the race in the first 200m. His early intent allowed Oakfield Jupiter to cross and settle outside the leader, and from there it was a very cosy watch for backers.

Collett, who is known more for his get-back-and-weave style, has shown over the past month that he’s adapting impressively to a more positive, on-speed approach.
An in form jockey who’s definitely worth following in the coming weeks.
Shooting Star – Attica tastes G1 success in start four.
The progressive 3YO colt, by the gun sprinter Savatiano, tasted Group 1 success in the feature event at Randwick on Saturday. In a short space of time, he’s gone from a dominant debut winner to mixing it at the top level.
Once again, he had to do it the tough way – similar to his win in the Gloaming Stakes – landing off speed from a poor draw before unleashing a powerful finish, using every inch of the Randwick straight to reel in the front-runner Shangri La Boy.

It’s been some spring for Godolphin and their Blue Army, and the margin back to third suggests we should be following the top two horses closely into their next preps.
Talent Scout: R5 Skyglider
It was an exceptional return by the unbeaten 3yo colt Skyglider. He was an impressive debut winner, defeating two subsequent G3 winners in Sixties and Estremo, before being tipped out and brought back with two sharp trials. Supported late from $7 into $6, he received a peach of a ride, was headed at the 300m, but fought back strongly to win the Brian Crowley Stakes by 1.41L.

He returned a WFA rating of 97.6 at just career start number two — that’s genuine future Group 1 winner territory. The race itself has proven a reliable yardstick, with the likes of Mazu and Spright among its honour roll.
As for what’s next, he’s been a late nomination for the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes, though a Magic Millions campaign could also be on the radar.
The Flashing Light
R5 – Skyglider: Exceptional return giving away race fitness to his rivals. He produced a strong 97.6 WFA rating according to Dan O’Sullivan’s data at just start number two. A genuine Group 1 horse in the making.
R4 – Point And Shoot: He’s flying, but once again his barrier manners cost him the race. I’d love to see a barrier blanket go on when he steps to 1600m next start.
R7 – Rivellino: A tough watch for backers on Saturday. It was a weak edition of the Callander-Presnell, but with even luck Rivellino should have won. He’ll be hard to beat next time out.
R10 – General Salute: The definition of flying. He does need the race shape to suit due to his lack of tactical speed, but he’s got a sharp turn of foot and is crying out for a win.
“They” Knew – Punters Got The Cash
R6 – Lindermann: $1.55 into $1.35 and punters were bang on — the 6yo made it 3 from 4 this prep and again produced a smart overall figure. He’s a real punters’ pal who always puts in on top of the ground.
R7 – Ohope: $3.40 into $2.70, one of the bigger firms on the program. Punters got it right, although he did enjoy some luck when his main rival was locked up at a vital stage. That said, he deserved the win after a consistent prep.
R9 – Stefi Magnetica: $7.00 into $3.90 – a huge go for a G2 race. She was crunched late in betting and duly saluted in impressive fashion second up. A lovely, patient ride by Collett. She’s on track for the Champions Mile.
What you may have missed?
Golden Eagle – Who’s running?
Lady Shenandoah: Goes to the Russell Balding Stakes over 1300m
Angel Capital: Won’t go to Golden Eagle, more than likely set for G1 C.F Orr Stakes
Siena A Star In The Making?
While many enjoyed a slow Sunday morning winding down after an elite day of racing on Saturday, young gun Siena Grima put on an absolute clinic on feature cup day at Coonabarabran.
She rode five of the eight winners, incredibly in five consecutive races, including the Cup itself.
- R3: Supreme Style – $1.30
- R4: Somerton Smart – $3.50
- R5: Enterprise Legend – $3.30
- R6: Night Fighter – $4.20
- R7: Who Ever Thought – $2.10
It’s only a matter of time before we start seeing Grima’s name in metro form guides on a regular basis.
Tempted & Farnicle – Spelling
In disappointing news for punters, the star 3YO filly Tempted heads to the paddock and won’t contest the Champions Sprint.
Meanwhile, Farnicle was a late scratching on Saturday and has since been updated to spelling. Keen to see this progressive colt return in the autumn.
