The NSW visitor Sir Delius has been crunched in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes. He opened $2.70 and has tumbled into even money on race morning, with some outlets even ticking into odds-on. It’ll be fascinating to see what the market does with this galloper late – track pattern may have some bearing on that.
There has also been a strong push in the other Group 1, the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes. Angel Capital couldn’t have been more impressive in taking out the Chautauqua Stakes first up and punters quickly piled into the Chris Waller-trained entire when markets were posted. He was as much as $5 but on race morning $2.90 is as good as it gets.
Elsewhere, the resuming Nation’s Call has attracted good support in the opening race, firming from $7 into $4.60. Half Yours has also been very well backed in the Naturalism Stakes (race nine).
GOLD COAST
Weather: Chance of morning showers and a forecast top of 24c.
Track: Good (4).

Jonny Da Wolf spent some time in Victoria where he failed to fire, but since returning to Queensland he has found form. He has attracted significant support in race six, firming from $4 into $2.60.
Meanwhile, punters have launched into two runners in race eight. At odds, Scud has been backed from $15 into $5.50, while as much as $9.50 was available about Click Click Boom, now into $4.60 (with minimal deductions).
MORPHETTVILLE PARKS
Weather: Showers and a forecast top of 16c.
Track: Good 4
Rail: 5m out.
Punters have found a few to be with in Adelaide. In race two, Star Rapper has been the one they’ve come for after two key scratchings changed the shape of the event, giving him a more favourable map.
In race four, Akkadian Emperor has attracted strong and steady support since markets opened, firming from around $3 into $2.10 and looking one of the better-backed runners of the day.
Later on the program in race nine, Dapper Don has also been well supported at odds to measure up in stronger company following his last-start maiden win.
