The traditional Tumut Boxing Day races have been called off because of the unavailability of an ambulance on the public holiday.
The five-race program had drawn big fields but couldn’t go ahead because of safety reasons without an ambulance.
Racing NSW had no option but to call off the meeting on Christmas Eve, when it could not get other providers to have the required medical precautions for the meeting.
The meeting has been abandoned, so will not be rescheduled.
