Forecasted hot weather in Victoria has forced a number of meetings to be shifted.
Racing Victoria announced on Monday that due to scorching temperatures across the state, forecast to be 42 degrees in Melbourne on Wednesday, that racing on the day will now be cancelled.
The meeting at Sandown in Wednesday will now be run on Thursday, which has a top forecast top of 33 degrees.
RV said it looked across the state for other options to run the meeting, but the hot weather ensured it wasn’t possible.
Sandown will remain a twilight meeting on Thursday and will also mean that the meeting scheduled at Sale on Thursday will now start at 12pm and conclude at 3.30pm.
Racing Victoria said that acceptances for the Sandown meeting have been deferred 24 hours and will now be taken at 8.45am on Tuesday with Sale acceptances to be taken immediately after.
Racing Victoria did not indicate any possible changes to the scheduled racing at Terang on Friday when temperatures are again tipped to exceed 35 degrees. A cool change is expected to sweep the state at some stage on Friday.
