Race 7 (1400m BM78)- laco
Putting race winner Placo into the blackbook off the back of his impressive 2nd up win. Expected he would have more improvement to come rising in distance but expected that would likely be over further than the 1400m trip. He put his rivals away easily in this field and it was clearly the best win of his career. Off the back of this if he is to find any improvement over more ground he should be a winner again 3rd up and he did win 3rd up last prep over the 1500m
Race 8 (1000m BM72) – Nicish
Nicish resumed here today. She was slow away so found her out the back of the field in the run. When in the straight she was making a strong run but did find some trouble at stages and didn’t get the cleanest of runs but once she broke through she did manage to pinch 2nd place. She isn’t a known 1st up performer so was expecting improvement to come and based off this run she will be suited fitter and rising in distance for her next run.

Strathalbyn 23/2
Jump Out #3 – Gin Explosion
This was the 2nd impressive jump out we have seen from Gin Explosion who now looks ready to return to the races as an improved type. She was well supported on debut and went straight to the paddock after. Her latest 2 trials have shown she is ready for a race return
Murray Bridge 23/2
Jump Out #2 – Lalor
This was another nice trial from unraced Lalor who has spent a few months at the jump outs. He was leading this jump out at the top of the straight and ran away from the rest of the field under little pressure. It is the best jump out he has produced to date and a race debut may be close.

Jump Out #4 – Princess Phoenicia
An unraced 2YO filly from the Aaron Bain & Ned Taylor stable impressed here to win this heat. She jumped out from the barriers cleanly and found a leading position, once in the straight she was met with a challenge but under little riding she fought on to hold her position in a run that showed good talent.
