This set of jump-outs was held at Cranbourne on Monday December 29. As always at Cranbourne it was a strong set with particular interest on the 2yos as the Blue Diamond series approaches.

Heat 1 – Charmed Run (2nd)
This Luke Oliver-trained mare cruised to the line under a big hold with plenty more to offer. She has a ripping first-up record having won three of her five fresh runs and on the back of this jump-out has come back in great order again. It was her first jump-out of the campaign, so may need another, but keen to follow.
Heat 2 – Toronado Queen (2nd)
Good heat, this. Jenni The Ninja was an impressive debut winner at Pakenham in November and based off this work has only come on from that outing. However, the horse I am keen to blackbook is Toronado Queen, who was hot on her hammer. She showed ability in her first campaign and has impressed in both jump-outs this time in, doubt it will be long before she’s winning again.
Heat 5 – Sattva (2nd)/Written Perfect (4th)
The Freemans have taken over training this filly, Sattva, who was well beaten at her only start last campaign. She cruised to the line under a good hold, running second, with plenty more to offer. Want to see her have another hit-out before resuming, but she’s in good order.
Also liked the work of Written Perfect who was strong late under his own steam. He trialled nicely last campaign without making it to the races but keen to follow when he does debut.
Heat 7 – Brazen Dechambeau (1st)
Nice colt. Debuted in a Stakes race at Flemington over the Carnival and got a few things wrong. Been given eight weeks between runs and has only come on for the break. Beautiful trial, he’s got a lovely turn of foot. Keen to follow and wouldn’t be surprised to see him contesting some of the better 2yo races.
Heat 9 – Thady Quill (1st)
This bloke has had three jump-outs in December and is ready to explode on debut. He went forward and won this jump-out impressively, having been ridden quieter at his previous hit-out. Clint McDonald is very good at getting horses to win early and suspect this horse will be no exception. Saludar also went well back in second, closing off strongly.
Heat 14 – Cyber Link (2nd)/Keep It Real (3rd)
He’s had a stack of jump-outs, Cyber Link, so won’t lack for experience when he does debut. He was most impressive in running second in this 1000m heat, running good time without being fully tested. He has tactical speed, which proves so valuable in short-course racing, and looks like a horse that will prove very hard to beat in a 1200m Maiden over the coming weeks.
Keep It Real closed off strongly the final 300m and will quickly knock off a Maiden this campaign having shown talent last time in.
