Star-studded Heat 1:
Geegees Mistruth reeled them in from last and won well, as you’d expect with plenty of fitness on her side. She’s set to head to the Oakleigh Plate on Saturday at Caulfield.
Rosberg had blinkers on here and just had to be pushed along a bit for a furlong or so. First jump-out was good, this one was OK. Watching brief on how he has come back.
Pride Of Jenni was given a very quiet trial. Assume she will have a more solid hit-out before resuming.

Heat 4 – Bonchelle (2nd)
Heat was only moderate time for the morning but liked how Bonchelle worked to the line in second. Wasn’t tested but continued to make solid late ground. One jump-out back in September also showed talent, but he was still green. Want to see him have another jump-out prior to debuting, but capable of quickly breaking his maiden when he does.
Heat 6 – Cavalry Scout (1st) and Bel Lupa (3rd)
Two 3yos that should quickly shake their maiden tag.
Cavalry Scout has only had the one run when fourth at Sandown back in October. First jump-out for the campaign and looked to move beautifully, easily getting past Yule Point (who was blinkered up) under very light riding. May need another jump-out, but won’t be a maiden for long.
Bel Lupa had three starts in her first campaign. She was in the market and competitive in each. Hit the line strongly under here own steam in this heat. Again, might need one more jump-out, but will quickly be winning this time around.
Heat 9 – Ladhar (1st)
Lovely trial from this Anthony and Sam Freedman trained galloper. Settled just beyond midfield before cruising down the centre under her own steam. Damian Lane had a very light rein, barely moving a muscle, yet the daughter of Exceed And Excel quickened down strongly. Has had one start in the Debutant Stakes at Caulfield back in October where she got a bit keen before having little luck up the straight. Seems to have improved.
Heat 15 – Chillies (3rd)
The Grahame Begg-trained Chillies was having his first jump-out back from a 14-week spell. He settled a fair way off the leaders but closed strong the final furlong. He went straight to the mile at his only start when winning at Cranbourne at the end of October. Suspect he will have another jump-out, maybe at 1200m, and then go to a similar distance first-up.
