What a weekend ahead of us with Derby Day in Melbourne and the Golden Eagle meeting in Sydney. Some terrific races across both venues and here are some ‘early’ plays I think are worth taking.
FLEMINGTON
Race 2 No.4 Sheza Alibi ($2.90 bet365)
Terrific run on return in the Gothic behind Tentyris & Raging Force in a high-rating contest. She was doing her best work late there and looks suited going to 1400m.

Tentyris comes from the carpark to hand Mark Zahra an early double ✌️

Blinkers on could add that extra length to her finish and think she maps ideally here for Luke Nolen from Gate 3.
Think the market will grab hold of that form line and have her elevating on recent ratings. Expect her to be tighter than the $2.90 on offer now.
Race 9 No.14 Flying For Fun ($19 bet365)
Deep race to end Derby Day but feel this girl appeals at odds. Loved the run last start behind Zealously at Warwick Farm, when rattling home from the back and that horse was good in the Caulfield Sprint.
Drawn to come down the outside lanes and get the last crack. Best ratings certainly capable of seeing her right in the finish, big price at that $19 range.
RANDWICK
Race 5 No.12 United Kingdom ($3.80 bet365)
Big last start win at Rosehill over 1800m and finally looks like delivering on early promise.
Clear ratings edge at the weights on that last start figure and feel the market will hone on him late with James McDonald in the saddle for Waller.
