South Australian racing will be shown on free to air television for another four years.

Racing SA announced on Tuesday that it had extended its deal with Racing Victoria’s media arm, racing.com, until 2030.

Racing South Australia CEO Nick Bawden said the deal, which will also see the state’s racing showcased on Sky Racing 1 and 2 as well as streamed through wagering providers, provides certainty for the code.

“This agreement provides valuable long-term certainty for our industry and ensures South Australian racing remains accessible to a broad national audience,” Bawden said.

“Since 2017, Racing.com has helped us showcase not only the quality of our racing, but also the horses, people, clubs and communities that make our South Australian industry unique.

“The partnership gives our race meetings consistent, high-quality coverage throughout the year, while creating greater opportunities to share South Australian racing stories with audiences across the country.

“We’re delighted to renew that relationship through to 2030 and to continue building the profile and reach of South Australian racing together.”

Racing Victoria will now have the role of commercialising South Australian racing rights, including internationally.

Racing Victoria CEO Aaron Morrison said South Australian thoroughbred racing had become an important part of racing.com’s coverage.

“We’re pleased to extend our partnership with South Australian racing, which has become a staple of the Racing.com broadcast alongside our core Victorian racing coverage,” Morrison said.

“This partnership takes South Australian racing to a broad national audience, while ensuring Victorian racing is showcased daily to South Australian audiences. It’s a win-win for both states.”
