Track
- Clear conditions are forecast, so expecting the track to be rated a Good 4 come R1.
- The rail will be in the True position for the first time since June.
- Slight leaning to favour on-speed types here as the track can race up and in on dry ground.
Stats
- Logan Bates has three rides at this meeting, and it is a track he rides particularly well. He has a winning strike rate of 18.9% with a handy POT of +14.2% from 111 rides.
Race 5 No.2 Coco Jen
(2) Coco Jen hit the line strongly 1st up at Sandown, which sets her up well for this 1600m trip today. She can get a softer run just off the speed from a low barrier, so you would expect she is again well placed to be finishing strongly. She comes up against some rivals that may outclass her overall, but in this race particularly she looks better suited over this trip and with the positive speed map.
Race 6 No.9 Lope De Largo
In what is looking to be a very open and competitive race, keen to side with the runner who may have good upside in (9) Lope De Lardo. He showed solid form in his debut prep, winning a maiden before placing in a stronger race to finish the prep. Based off two recent trials here at this track, he looks to have come on nicely in the break and is well suited from an inside barrier.
Race 7 No.4 Klabel
(4) Klabel was trialling the house down back in South Australia before resuming at Caulfield in a handy race around group-level performers. (4) Klabel peeled off the 5th-fastest L600m of the entire meeting that day and generally can be an improver 2nd up. Rising in trip to 1200m suits and he gets the right race set-up to find improvement off the impressive 1st-up run.
