Race Horse Summary
R3 (6) Zebella Down in grade on recent runs and can lead the race.
R4 (2) Swiftie Harriet (Best) Drops back in grade and is suited up slightly in distance.
R8 (4) I Catchem Fox (Value) Back in grade and in career best form.
R9 (1) Speedtail Brings in strong form lines and gets a better map than last time.

Track

  • The second meeting on the Morphettville Parks track this month and we see the rail pushed out slightly and it will be +6m the entire.
  • Expecting clear conditions race day but there is rain forecast Friday. Depending on how much falls, the meeting may kick off on a soft track. Generally with the rail in this position the advantage is to be on speed.

Stats

  • Darryl Dodson brings a strong team to this meeting with 4 runners set to start. He has produced 15 winners from his last 100 runners at a healthy POT of +29.9%.
  • Coming off a riding double last week, Campbell Rawiller has been engaged for 4 rides. He has a strong riding record at this track with a strike rate of 23.2% at a POT of +37.7%.

Race 1

Competitive race kicks off the program here today.

(2) Stratum Pride is on the quick back up having run into the placings in a stronger race and a repeat performance has her going close again.

(6) Extinguish was moderate first up but had excuses when caught out wide for the trip. He will likely be an improver here second up and fitter with a better map.

(4) Cielao looks the likely leader which can suit on this track.

(1) Angelic Appeal can mix her form, but she appears likely to be better suited here today dropping back down in grade.

Selections:
(2) Stratum Pride
(6) Extinguish
(4) Cielao
(1) Angelic Appeal

Suggested Bet: No bet, tough betting race to start.

Race 2

(10) So Polite comes into this race having had a freshen up since her last run. Her two runs so far this prep have produced some good form lines so she is going well enough to be winning. She maps well from barrier 4 and gets in light at the weights after an apprentice claim.

(11) Bardigrub ran into the placings in a stronger race on debut at Murray Bridge, resuming here and can be an improver from that break.

(6) Stranded makes his debut for a new stable here today, maps well and recent trials have been good so suggest he can perform well fresh.

(8) Tobikko looks the best of the runners who are here on debut.

Selections:
(10) So Polite
(11) Bardigrub
(6) Stranded
(8) Tobikko

Suggested Bet: No bet, competitive race where any of a few can improve enough to be winning.

Race 3

(6) Zebella has been well in the market in her last two starts and perhaps has disappointed to this point but can be an improver here dropping well back down in grade from her previous two starts. She looks a key speed influence here again and can improve enough to win in this grade.

(4) Arizona Activist was good when resuming in a higher rated race at Moe recently. This is a drop in grade and he gets the right race map.

(3) Dancing Storm won the Vignerons Cup easily last time out at Strathalbyn and this race does not appear to be much harder than that so he can go on with it from that.

(2) Alpine Flyer makes her debut for a new team today, she has a strong record when 1st up (6:3-1-0) so could fire fresh despite a moderate trial recently.

Selections:
(6) Zebella
(4) Arizona Activist
(3) Dancing Storm
(2) Alpine Flyer

Suggested Bet: Zebella (Win).

Race 4

(2) Swiftie Harriet has run into the placings in three of her four starts this prep. She was big off a wide run last start and strong through the line when running into 2nd. She draws wide again but is better suited down in grade and slightly up in trip.

(5) Creek has hit the line strongly in two runs for his new stable. He will be suited up in distance again but will have to do it from the back of the field.

(7) Testing One Two makes his debut for a new stable. We saw this runner contest a Listed race here in SA before the break and his recent trial win was solid.

(9) On The Map looks the likely leader of this, in what could be a moderately run race. If she can take control of the race tempo untested out in front she could pinch this.

Selections:
(2) Swiftie Harriet
(5) Creek
(7) Testing One Two
(9) On The Map

Suggested Bet: Swiftie Harriet (Win).

Race 5

(7) Thunder Shoc has found good form of late having won two of her last three starts. This is going to be a step up in level today but she clearly finds her best form at this track and distance set up (4:2-2-0).

(5) Beauty Bound can be an improver fitter second up now. She gets a good claim off her back to get in well at the weights here.

(3) Vintage Star has been around the mark in similar level races in his last few starts. A senior jockey getting back on board could be a key gear change for his chances and the inside barrier sets him up for the right run.

(9) Mintulee needs to find improvement on her last few starts but she can find that on this Parks track if it is favouring on speed runners. She will likely be putting a solid tempo into this race and running them along.

Selections:
(7) Thunder Shoc
(5) Beauty Bound
(3) Vintage Star
(9) Mintulee

Suggested Bet: No bet, hard to gauge exactly where some of these sit rising in grade.

Race 6

(1) Enuff Seduction was solid when resuming and running a close 2nd when down in grade on her last prep runs. Fitter second up now and back onto the Parks track, she looks every chance again in a race of a similar rating.

(2) Been Our Angel maps for the run of the race from barrier 3. This is a much better race map than what he was faced with in his last start so expecting he can be an improver.

(3) Round Two had some very good form recently but has had some issues over-racing in his last couple of runs. Another who can be an improver if he pulls it all together.

(7) Truly Elsa was solid when resuming, she may be an improver 2nd up today and getting to a track where she has had success previously.

Selections:
(1) Enuff Seduction
(2) Been Our Angel
(3) Round Two
(7) Truly Elsa

Suggested Bet: No bet, hard to have full trust here in case the pair of green runners can find their best level.

Race 7

(2) King Of Wessex was a good winner two starts ago before taking a sharp rise up in grade last time out. He is dropping back down in level now which should help him improve enough to see out this rise in trip.

(8) Pelevecchio has jumped favourite in all four runs this prep and continues to elude punters. Three recent placings suggest she is going well but she continues to be hard to follow, would not surprise but do not have full trust in her right now.

(3) Whatsanamegeorge should be an improver here dropping back down in grade and back to a distance where he has had strong success previously (2:1-0-1).

(11) Annanda needs to take a rise up in level to be competitive here but she looks likely to get the run of the race from the inside barrier which will help.

Selections:
(2) King Of Wessex
(8) Pelevecchio
(3) Whatsanamegeorge
(11) Annanda

Suggested Bet: No bet, tricky staying race to want to be betting into.

Race 8

(4) I Catchem Fox returns to SA having been competitive during Cup Week in the Country Final race. Had no choice but to lead on a tough track to be leading on and he managed to stick on well for 5th. His recent ratings suggest that he is in career best form and he is suited here back down in grade.

(7) Wild Winner was well supported to win last time out and did salute for punters. She won that race softly so should be capable of improving enough to rise up to the 1600m trip.

(6) Beautiful Jewel has been hard to catch for punters when running into the placings in three of her last four starts. She needs luck from a wide barrier but does have the talent to win at this level if she gets the right run.

(9) Full Of Courage impressed when winning a midweek race easily last start. This is a step up in grade but rising in trip looks suitable.

Selections:
(4) I Catchem Fox
(7) Wild Winner
(6) Beautiful Jewel
(9) Full Of Courage

Suggested Bet: I Catchem Fox (Each Way).

Race 9

(1) Speedtail has been competitive in similar level races to what he is faced with here today. The recent form lines around the likes of Thebigsosso and Zunna read well for this race and the inside barrier should give him a better run than last time.

(2) Captain Joolian is on the quick backup and down in grade after a strong performance last week.

(5) Naralinga has to find some level of improvement for this grade but has a slick turn of foot and can be hitting the line strongly if a run presents itself. A fast run race will help improve his chances.

(7) Garcon Renard impressed last start when beating the well fancies Creek this is a rise in grade and he may need luck to run of from the back of the field but is showing talent

Selections:
(1) Speedtail
(2) Captain Joolian
(5) Naralinga
(7) Garcon Renard

Suggested Bet: Speedtail (Win).
