| Race | Runner | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| R2 | (9) Mostly For Show Best | Suited down in grade |
| R4 | (4) Creek Value | Fitter 2nd up and rising in trip suits |
| R6 | (3) Pelevecchio | Should get every chance down in grade and up in trip |
| R7 | (6) Tottori | Gets ideal set up at this point of his prep |
Track
- Clear conditions are forecast race day and the days leading up. Expecting the track will be rated a Good 4 for the meeting
- The rail remains in the same position as it was at the previous meeting and will be +12m 900m – W/Post and +9m remainder
- Despite the wide rail position, the track should still play fairly given its size, and generally the advantage is with runners who can find cover in run as it is a tough track to lead and win at
Stats
- Jockey premiership contender Jacob Opperman rides particularly well here at Murray Bridge, striking at 15.2 percent from 364 rides with a POT of +30.2 percent
- Andrew Gluyas is beginning to find some strong form from his stable having produced 12 winners from his last 50 starters and brings 3 runners today
Race 1
(2) Bel Ragazzo and (1) Act Natural are both runners who are coming into this Maiden off the back of multiple placings. (1) Act Natural has proven to be a tough follow for punters in his career with 9 placings in 9 starts, he draws much better here today in barrier 4 and back to the 1000m shouldn’t be a negative, this appears to be his strongest chance for a breakthrough. (2) Bel Ragazzo has finished in behind two handy types in his two career starts and can build off those runs, drawn inside and mapping to go forwards so expect he will be prominent.
(7) Beyond Mysti makes her debut here today having won a trial recently, she comes from a stable who have a good record at placing their debutantes so expect a solid showing.
(3) Bel Hotesse was solid in a strong maiden last start, she could run a race here at odds with a repeat performance.
Selections:
(1) Act Natural
(2) Bel Ragazzo
(7) Beyond Mysti
(3) Bel Hotesse
Suggested Bet: No bet. Looking for the right price to potentially back both Act Natural and Bel Ragazzo.
Race 2
(9) Mostly For Show is 2nd up here today. He was competitive in 2YO Stakes level races last prep and resumed up in grade in a Benchmark level race. He can be an improver here today dropping to Maiden grade for the first time as well as getting a slight rise in trip. Should prove hard to beat.
(6) Bargain Boy resumes for his 2nd campaign having run into 4th on debut, expecting improvement and a forwards showing from a low barrier.
(8) Light The Night comes out of some handy level Maiden races and may find this a touch easier, but a wide barrier could make for an awkward run if he doesn’t get luck.
(2) Moussaka resumes, he showed good pace in his debut campaign and looks likely to race in a forward position here today.
Selections:
(9) Mostly For Show
(6) Bargain Boy
(8) Light The Night
(2) Moussaka
Suggested Bet: (9) Mostly For Show WIN
Race 3
(2) Sensational Secret has been well supported in two runs so far for the new stable but despite only running 4th in both runs, she has finished less than 1 length away from the winners in the race suggesting there is more merit to her performances. She maps well again and suggest she is close to a win at this level.
(12) Synthesise resumes down in grade from where she finished last prep, this looks slightly easier and expect she will be hitting the line strongly late.
(1) Brimarvi Rosemarie has run into the placings in her last two starts and looks likely to be positive in this run.
(11) One More Song was green on debut and spelled instantly after that run, she showed improvement in a recent trial so expecting she can transfer that at race level.
Selections:
(2) Sensational Secret
(12) Synthesise
(1) Brimarvi Rosemarie
(11) One More Song
Suggested Bet: No bet. Sensational Secret the one to beat but hard to trust fully.
Race 4
(4) Creek was solid when resuming off a long break for a new stable. He finished 3rd in a similar level race after enduring a wide run, expecting fitter now 2nd up and rising in trip looks ideal.
(10) Layin’ Up was well supported to win a soft Maiden at Naracoorte recently, drawn well and with a light weight she can be prominent in the finish despite rising in grade.
(1) Autumn Frost was an easier winner last start at Gawler, rising in grade today but if he can produce a run at a similar rating here he should go close.
(6) Kikorangi was a strong winner two starts ago before taking a step up in grade, he was outclassed last start but looks suited back in grade and will be the likely leader.
Selections:
(4) Creek
(10) Layin’ Up
(1) Autumn Frost
(6) Kikorangi
Suggested Bet: (4) Creek WIN
Race 5
This appears to be the most open race on the program.
(1) Babayka will likely appreciate a drop in grade, he looks likely to need some luck from a wide barrier but gets every chance with the right run.
(5) De Luca ran a close 2nd in a similar race last start, she drops back to 1000m where she has her best record.
(4) Isla’s Fury was a strong winner two starts back before rising in grade. She is suited back down in grade today but the extreme outside draw makes it tough.
(2) Taking Omaha likely finds this as a slight drop in grade and can push forwards from a wider barrier and find a position early out of the chute start.
Selections:
(1) Babayka
(5) De Luca
(4) Isla’s Fury
(2) Taking Omaha
Suggested Bet: No bet
Race 6
(3) Pelevecchio has been well supported in three runs so far this prep after she performed well in Group level races last prep. She appears to have had her chances in stronger races so rising in trip here and well down in grade it feels a final chance race for her here.
(6) Morlaix was a winner two starts back and ran a close 2nd last time out. She is in good form and rises in trip for the first time down in grade which should suit.
(7) Caring Lass hit the line strongly last start when winning so will likely be suited up in trip here.
(4) Badonkidonk has been down on form to kick off this prep but fitter 3rd up now and has previously performed well when 3rd up.
Selections:
(3) Pelevecchio
(6) Morlaix
(7) Caring Lass
(4) Badonkidonk
Suggested Bet: (3) Pelevecchio WIN
Race 7
(6) Tottori is 4th up this prep having resumed off a more than 12 month spell. He has been solid through the line in all runs and now down in grade rising to 1400m, he looks well suited and his only career win came at this track when on debut. This looks the right race.
(5) Navy Gold gets his ideal set up here 2nd up and fitter. He has never missed the top 3 in three runs both 2nd up and at this track/distance.
(3) Dunreal should improve 2nd up at 1400m.
(8) Vexatious Choice will be big odds but maps well and could improve with the right run.
Selections:
(6) Tottori
(5) Navy Gold
(3) Dunreal
(8) Vexatious Choice
Suggested Bet: (6) Tottori WIN
