Frankie Dettori signed off his remarkable riding career in fitting style, claiming another Group 1 in Brazil.
He had earlier rode an emotional winner on his final day as a jockey in Rio on Sunday, before claiming the opening leg of Brazil’s Triple Crown.
Dettori retires with three championship titles and 287 Group 1 victories.
Dettori began his farewell day winning aboard Speak Alpha, prompting Dettori to stand high in the irons in celebration as he won.
The fairy-tale farewell continued where Dettori later partnered Bet You Can to victory in the Grande Prêmio Estado do Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian 2000 Guineas, securing the first leg of Brazil’s Triple Crown.

“I can rest now, whatever else happens today,” Dettori told Racing Post after his opening win.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish. From the minute I got on the horse, it felt phenomenal. It’s a great place to finish – trust me. I’m very happy.”
The 55-year-old began his career in Italy four decades ago and will officially bow out of the saddle later on Sunday.
He has often made headlines off the track too, including a ban for drug use. He also declared bankruptcy, unable to pay hundreds of thousands in tax debts.
